Casa Flora is a cozy two room vacation rental apartment just off Taos Plaza and close to everything Taos, New Mexico has to offer. The entrance is through a brick courtyard lined by summer blooming flowers with an outdoor seating area, perfect for an evening glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee! Enjoy convenience and privacy in this unique Taos setting.
This charming vacation rental apartment is located in an adobe building built in the 1880's with all the authentic historic details: wood floors, hand hewn beamed viga ceilings and many multi-paned operable windows. The apartment is furnished with antiques, original art from exceptional Taos artists and my sense of whimsy throughout.
Casa Flora has a comfortable and inviting great room style combined living room and kitchen. While small, the kitchen has everything you need. The frig is brand new, and the ice trays are always full. There is a four burner stove and oven, a re-purposed dry sink and tile counter top, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. Make sure you check the pantry before shopping. You'll find spices, oils, vinegars, tea, sugar, and coffee for your first morning. And there are baking pans, measuring cups, spoons and bowls in case you feel domestic.
A gas log stove keeps the great room nice and cozy, and the skylight offers wonderful Taos light making it bright and cheery. The antique trestle dining table seats four. The couch is a double sleeper sofa with bedding conveniently stored in an antique tool chest/coffee table.
Browse the bookshelves for some fiction or non fiction reading, or play monopoly or cards. There is a sound system, CDs and radio.
The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, premium sheets, down comforter, quilted spread and good reading lights. There is an antique dresser, clothes pegs, and two cozy robes for lounging. The charming gas log stove makes the bedroom nice and cozy in the winter, and there is a ceiling fan for summer, though the 14" thick adobe walls keep the apartment nice a cool even without it. Enjoy the charming ambiance of Casa Flora's historic details combined with eclectic and rustic decor which is so very Taos.
The full bath features an antique corner sink, vintage lighting fixtures and a newly tiled shower, and is equipped with plenty of towels and bath supplies, so leave your hair dryer at home. Enjoy cozy baseboard heat (heated bathrooms are a rarity in Taos!) and whimsical, naked lady artwork.
